“Hey, kid, what’s that in your hand?” asked Kazuto, bending over the Academy Student’s shoulder to examine the figure in his hand. It looked a lot like a man made out of what appeared to be mud. Kazuto was intrigued to see that the sculpture could actually maintain its shape and was not simply falling apart. The Academy Student, who had large blue eyes and long red hair, glanced up at Kazuto. She turned around so as to show the mud-man more clearly. “It’s a man made out of mud,” she said with a happy smile.
Kazuto straightened up. “I can see that, but how the hell is it keeping its shape? It’s not easy to make a figure out of mud.” The girl looked at him blankly for a second, then replied uncertainly, “Well, my Dad used some jutsu to make this, I’m supposed to show it to Sensei.” Kazuto slapped his forehead as his face broke into a grin. “Ah, so that’s it, a jutsu, how simple,” he said, an idea forming in his mind. “Well, it’s a nice piece of work nonetheless.” The little girl grinned happily and muttered a thanks as Kazuto walked off.
Pausing by a patch of grass-less ground, Kazuto stood thinking for a second, then made a few handsigns, after which he said, “Tsuchi Bunshin no Jutsu!” The ground in front of him bulged upwards as a copy of him appeared in front of him. The clone flexed its fingers and looked at the real Kazuto, who grinned as he studied the clone. With a sudden movement, he threw a punch to the clone’s gut, who grabbed it just as quickly. They both straightened up. “Perfect,” said the real Kazuto with satisfaction.
