Total Words Needed – 1400. Total Length inc RP elements - 2392

Jiro opened his eyes and took a moment to breathe in the crisp early morning air. All was still and calm as he sat on the surface of the lake the glistening water cool to the touch. Everything was calm and peaceful, this did not bode well. His clones had gotten clever of late and were clearly up to something. They were getting creative and that could only mean a challenge was in store

(Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu Training - 214) It had taken him slightly longer then expected to get Jutsu down. He had created his first watery duplicate third time around, though it seemed sluggish and its appearance was actually opaque. He had assumed that like Bunshin the technique required little to no chakra but it became quickly apparent that it needed a more reasonable amount to hold form. He heard of a more advance clone form, the shadow clone, but despite efforts he had been unable to acquire it. A regrettable circumstance given rumours he heard surrounding its training potential, that said he had also heard that it was excessively tiring and considered that perhaps it was best to stick water ones. He practised for many long hours increasing his seal speed and trying to perfect the technique. The hand signs were not problematic but they usually weren’t, it was as ever a case of chakra control. Too much left him drained and too little and the water failed to hold form, neither result was acceptable. Fortunately his Charka control was relatively good and it was simply a matter of time before it became second nature. By the end of the day 4 fully formed clones stood in front of him awaiting his commands. Yes, he thought to himself, this will come in useful

A light mist quickly turning into a murky mass crept towards him emanating from the trees, he didn’t need to feel the chakra in the air to know that this was no natural occurrence Mist was rare around Konoha and there had been no natural warning signs. Also it just what he would have done to hide his numbers had had that advantage. So they would use Kirigakure no jutsu against him, soon he would see if it worked.

(Kirigakure no Jutsu Training - 181) The technique proved to be remarkably easy to learn, a simple case of diffusing ones chakra into a moisture rich environment which would then draw upon it and create a misty haze. The more chakra one pumped into the technique the thicker the mist till the area was smothered in it. It didn’t require any where near as much chakra as one might think and control was minimal but an appreciation of the amount to use was essential. In truth the real difficulty had been acquiring the technique in the first place since so few in Konoha knew it, as it turned out he managed to acquire the scroll of basic water jutsu by chance inserted into a treaties on camouflage he had bought from a merchant from the water country. It seemed expensive at the time even after he had haggled it down to a third of the original asking price but all in all it was bargain indeed. He had spent a great deal more time looking through the odd tomes merchants were sometimes bring to the country for other treasures

The first time they had done this tech precipitated in his first actual defeat. While losing to himself wasn’t really a loss technically had shaken him at the time. While happy to use mist he realised he was all too vulnerable to it himself and his clones were clever enough to exploit this fact and their numbers to their advantage, not surprising given they were him after all. So he had endeavoured to find a solution and after searching in vain Jiro managed to develop a technique to deal with it. Flipping to his feat his hands already adopting the single hand sign needed to form the chakra in the back of his eyes and a moment later he said “Shiryoku”

(Shiryoku Training – 163 Words) As simple as Kirigakure no jutsu in principal but incredibly complex in practise, the technique requires one to mould chakra in ones retina to warp the eyes focus shifting it a few optives to see through water without the affect of refraction or mist or steam unhindered. The Charka drain and hand signs needed were in both cases negligible as the technique only did a minor change to ones perception. The problem was that unless one possessed a Dojutsu moulding chakra in ones eyes was incredibly problematic and quite risky so his early attempts were tentative and cautious. It taken a few hours before he was confident no adverse affect, short term or long term, would occur as a result of the Jutsu. Once active he couldn’t help but please with the result. As ever it was the simple things one learned to appreciate the most and being able to see through the clawing mist of Kirigakure no jutsu was most certainly a positive.

Through the fog two clones stood not far too his right while a third was preparing to blade whip him with the sword in his hand to the left. This left two unaccounted Jiro thought mentally reminding himself to be on his guard. Deciding it was best to act quickly to negate their number he began to run headlong at the isolated clone just as he through his crimson axe at him. Flipping to avoid it he ploughed on eating up the distance between them. The clone tried to whip the large axe back in time but Jiro was faster still and a hard punch caused it to erupt in an explosion of watery spray. He was about to move on when his eyes caught the two missing clones who had been in position all the time waiting for him making best use of the Suisou camouflage technique he had learned only two days back.

(Suisou Training – 205) One of the more useful camouflage techniques based on a similar thing he heard Iwa did with rock though waters natural state made this jutsu far simpler to use. With it one can quiet literally sink in the water becoming part of it becoming all but undetectable as long as one hid their charka signature. The actual sinking process was easier then he imagined and only required 3 hand seals to perform. The problem was then being able to sense ones surroundings. Initially it had not been possible so odd was the sensation but with practise he adapted to the technique and learning to see and sense while in it. This took many problematic hours of squinting to get down and was only made more problematic because the body of water he had chosen to practise on was first moving and ever slightly skewed his attempts. As he began to understand it more he cut the associated Chakra down to a negligible amount though despite efforts to reduce it the act itself took a reasonable amount of chakra to perform. Over the hours he trained it he found he no longer needed to say the Jutsu after forming the appropriate hand seal making it all the more useful.

Jiro moved fast as a snake, unfortunately his clones did too. As he popped up the three began to whirl about in a confusing balletic dance of death, axes slicing the air. Moment’s later one clone popped however in the distraction the other was already flipping through a familiar set of hand seals. Jiro had no time to dodge the tech in question and so initiated blade whip hoping to disrupt the clone before he could finish the technique. His timing was fraction off and his own blood red axe shot passed without harming the clone. Moments later he heard the anticipated words: Suirou no Jutsu and felt himself enclosed in a sphere of water

(Suirou Training – 223 words) The Water Prison technique had taken a fair amount of time to get down or to be more truthful to steal. It had taken over 3 separate surveillance trips of a water user practising in area 34 to get the rudimentaries of chakra moulding and hand seals down and then many days of practise to actually perform the technique itself effectively without wasting unnecessary charka. It soon became apparent that this powerful technique was not without its limitations. While it required little to no chakra to maintain it did require the user to constantly mould the prison meaning that had to touch it all times to maintain it. Fortunately a clone could be used to do this or act in his stead while he did it. That said he couldn’t help but hope that he could find a way for the prison to maintain itself. As a prison even Jiro was surprised by its effectiveness, like all Jutsu he tried it on himself having a clone trap him and much to his dislike and joy he couldn’t break free of his own accord. Always liking to test himself and his immortality to reasonable limits he had the clone maintain if for as long as possible and came to a conclusion that he had not been immortal he would have drowned long before the clone has dispersed out of lack of Chakra.

Jiro couldn’t help but be annoyed with him self as his clone smirked at him behind the prison of water that now enveloped Jiro if only he could find way out. With a flash he released that his weapon was not so restricted and using all the force he could muster tug on the chain to whip the axe back. Moments later the smug clone erupted into a cloud of water as Jiro moon headed axe ripped through it freeing its trapped owner. Swinging around he noted the remaining clones were closing fast and a tight unit, a perfect time to his mind to test his newest Jutsu. Bring his hands together he flipped through the necessary hand sign’s and open his mouth. He could feel the Chakra drain of this technique digging deep into his reserves as he expelled water from his gullet magnifying immensely. The placid lake was now home to a 10ft wave with Jiro riding on top of heading directly for the pair of clones.

(Baku Suishouha Training - 305) Baku Suishouha was most difficult water technique he had tried to date. He had seen a missing Nin using to avoid capture by Anbu, it didn’t help in the end but he had to admit the technique intrigued him on many levels and he was especially surprised how much water it could be used to produce. Following the incident he returned to his apartment are carefully reviewed what he had seen of it and the hand seals involved. It took a week on and off of trials and errors to finally get his theoretical understanding to a point where he could attempt to try it. He soon found himself in a world of problems and frustrating ones at that. Not only was the Chakra required far larger then those he had attempted previously and bit deeply into his reserves but the level of control needed to perform it was far greater then even he had anticipated. Moulding the initial Charka was problematic enough so as to increase the volume of water controlling the wave was something else entirely. After many hours he finally got to the point where could produce the wave only to be caught up in it himself and become victim to it. It took many days to learn to balance so that he seemed to ride the wave. Even after achieving this much his control of it was still debateable, and he was reliant on the direction he was facing to direct the onrush. As he practised he began to notice ever so slightly that with an extreme effort he could send tendrils of chakra to better manipulate the wave. Time passed and the tendrils and his control grew till he could finally control the wave as if section nature and ride across its top to gain the drop on his enemies.

As he suspected the clones had anticipated the attack but lacked a good way of avoiding it other then through speed. Capable of stirring the oncoming wave only one managed to avoid the technique, the other being dispersed is the weight of water crashed down upon it leaving Jiro and the remaining clone face to face. Jiro was about to end it when he finally noticed the suns position and realised he was overdue at the Hokage Tower. Much as he would like to continue he needed to get going. Fortunately he still had some chakra left and he had a move in mind that would be kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

(Kiri Shunshin Training - 210) The Jutsu came about partly by accident and partly as a result of curiosity. The accident involved Shunshining at the same time as creating mist, resulting in a odd combination of the two that left him heaving his stomach up 3 miles from his original position in a gauss bush he had hidden in once as a child. At first he pondered on what use this new development could be after all he didn’t need or want Jutsu that moved him from battle to throw up somewhere else entirely but curiousity demanded he explore this new form of Shunshin. As it turned out practised made perfect and after doing it a second time he only threw up the once and despite these early set backs he ploughed on regardless. In time he began to appreciate its benefits and experimented with its limits hoping to find some combat use for it. On the good side his body adapted to the technique and he stopped feeling nauseated by it but problematically unlike a regular Shunshin it had a large min range and was less then useless in combat. Still it had its place to save travel time and he suspected it might be a useful escape technique but not one he hoped to employ

Vanishing in a swirl of mist he reappeared moments later outside the administrative building smirking all the while knowing that his last clone separated by such a distance would be little more then water particles at this point
