Name: Tanryoku Shijin (Tanryoku=Courage Shijin= Poet)
Age: 14
Height: 5'10"
Weight:150 lbs
Gender: Male
Village: Sunagakure (Sand Village)
Rank: Genin
Physical Appearance: This is a picture of him when he gets older.
Tanryoku has pure white hair that is always a bit unruly because he never bothers to try to fix it. His eyes are a strange yellow color, and he was often teased about them as a child, and got into a few fights because of the teasing. Tanryoku has a very tall, lean build...about average for a shinobi. He is a little tall for his age. As Tanryoku got older he started to become more popular with the ladies because of his unconventional, yet handsome looks. He wears pendulum like earrings that contain bells that are used in his Genjutsu. He wears a tight black sleeveless spandex shirt with an orange sleeve that covers his left arm and shoulder. He wears a red scarf around his neck that partially covers his face, and is useful during a sandstorm. He wears baggy black pants and black sandals. He also has a red belt made out of the same fabric as his scarf. His forehead protector's plate is attached to his belt. He also has an equipment pouch that is hidden under his belt that contains various ninja tools, first aid items, and various poisons and antidotes. He wears various armbands and a hard leather forearm sleeve on his right arm. his left hand and arm are both taped up to his elbow to avoid taking damage from his fire element jutsu. He also wears his deceased parents' wedding bands on a necklace. He has a scar across his nose, but it seems to add to his good looks. He also has a few scars on his arms from training. Gen'ei; his ocarina, hangs from a brown leather strap attached to his belt. (He doesn't have the tattoo yet...just ignore it for now...I will have him recieve it later on)
Personality: Tanryoku is a very calm and relaxed person. He likes to read and he is often found with his nose in a book. He seems like a cold person, but he is just a very reserved individual. This is because he likes to take a long time to get close to people to avoid being hurt by them. Some people don't like him because of this...thinking that Tanryoku believes himself to be superior, but this is not the case. He really does care for people, but has difficulty showing it right away. He only has a few close friends, but he really cares about them and would do almost anything for them. He seems to loosen up and jokes around a lot while around these friends...He is a little sarcastic at times, but he does so in jest and never to an elder. Tanryoku has deep respect for elders and those of higher rank than himself because of the lessons taught to him by his adoptive parents. He also doesn't care too much about his appearance; even though he is thought to be handsome by most people...he never even bothers trying to fix his hair. He is fairly popular with girls because of his good looks and cool attitude. He likes to flirt a lot, but is still slow to get close to the women he flirts with. He loves music and is skilled at playing the ocarina. He often plays his ocarina at night while sitting on the roof of a building if he can't sleep. He seems to have random stretches of insomnia that last for a couple of days at a time; usually during a stressful time in his life. Tanryoku lives with adoptive parents and loves them very much, but he misses his real father and thinks of him often. He also wonders what his mother was like. He never knew her because she died giving birth to him. He has always felt guilty about this. Tanryoku often visits his parents' graves, and cries almost every time he does. This is one of the only times he will allow himself to show strong emotions while in public.
Element: Fire (will use Earth when he gains a second element)
Weapon of Choice: Name Gen'ei (Phantom)
Appearance:Gen'ei is a small ocarina that hangs from a leather strap at Tanryoku's waist
- Spoiler:
Special Abilities: Tanryoku can use Gen'ei to play music to cast Genjutsu upon his opponent. The strength of the illusion depends on the complexity of the song. The harder the song the more powerfull the Genjutsu. Tanryoku can also use the sounds it creates for various sound jutsu to harm his opponent's hearing.
Origen: Tanryoku was given this ocarina by his adoptive mother as a birthday present when he turned eight years old. She also taught him how to play the ocarina over the years, and he was very talented at playing it. Tanryoku eventually learned how to use it for Genjutsu when he was in the ninja academy.
Tanryoku also likes to use senbon laced with poison that have varying effects:
Paralyzing: This is poison taken from a scorpion. The poison will slowly paralyze the target's muscular system in the area of the senbon strike. They will gradually lose the ability to move that body part: 1 post-slowed greatly. 2 posts- loss of control of body part in which the senbon struck. 3 posts- unable to move body part at all. This poison will wear off after 6 posts. Tanryoku does carry antidote for this poison
Sleep: This is poison taken from a plant. It slowly makes the victim drift off into sleep. they will lose conciousness after 5 posts. Tanryoku does carry antidote for this poison
Hallucinogen: This is poison taken from a plant. It makes the opponent begin to see hallucinations and become more susceptible to Genjutsu. The effects will kick in after 3 posts and last for 4 posts after that. Tanryoku does carry antidote for this poison
Fighting Type: Main: Genjutsu Sub: Medical:[poison specialist] (He can use some Ninjutsu)
Background:Birth/Childhood:Tanryoku was born to ninja from different villages. His father was a Jounin from Sunagakure, and his mother was a Jounin from Konohagakure. They had a courtship that lasted many years, but was difficult because of the distance. Tanryoku's mother eventually became pregnant, and when she found out that she was with child she came to visit Tanryoku's father and tell him the news. The two ninja where married soon after and they decided to stay in the sand village. They lived together happily until Tanryoku's mother died giving birth to him. Tanryoku was raised by his father until he was five years old. His father was a loving father, and took very good care of Tanryoku. When he was five Tanryoku's father died from an unidentified disease. Tanryoku didn't take the loss very well and was in a dark place for a long time. Tanryoku was placed in an orphanage for about half a year until he was adopted by a middle class family in Sunagakure. This family owned a small shop in the village and where not shinobi. It was a different experience for him. He never had to worry about his parents leaving on a mission and never returning. They where around often and Tanryoku was very happy living with them
Academy: Tanryoku was the first person from his adoptive family to enter the ninja academy. He always remembered his father and how strong he seemed...He wanted to be just like his father...a great shinobi...he wanted to protect his village. He never told his adoptive father that this was the reason he wanted to enter the academy because he wanted his adoptive father to think that Tanryoku looked up to him...which he did, but in a different way...His adoptive father was a hard worker and a great father. Tanryoku wanted to be a mix of both fathers that had been in his life...a great shinobi and a good man. Tanryoku did fairly well in the academy and recieved amazing scores in Genjutsu. His other skills where good, but did not stand out as well as his Genjutsu. He also found out that he was very good at chakra manipulation and was an excelent candidate for recieving Medical Jutsu training. He did well in this too, and he developed into a good medical ninja.
Genin: Tanryoku graduated from the academy when he was eleven years old and officially became a Genin. He was assigned to a squad and did very well on missions. This lasted for about two years until, his squadmates where killed on a mission; he has been bouncing around as a replacement member for squads ever since. He never really allowed himself to get close to these squadmates for fear of losing them too. Because of this he never stayed in a squad for long. He has now been a shinobi for three years and is gaining experience very quickly. Tanryoku also began to research poisons and their antidotes during this time and is becoming quite knowledgable about them.
Rp Sample: This is my RP sample from ingoo, so I am RPing as my character Yoshirou here:
Yoshirou awoke to birds chirping and sunlight shining down upon his face. He noticed something strange...he was outside...laying on the ground. Yoshirou sat up quickly and looked around. Yoshirou didn't know where we was…it looked like the forest outside of Konoha, but he couldn't see any of the familiar landmarks to find his bearings. It was just trees and more trees for as long as he could see. It was then that he noticed it. The blood on his hands. he couldn't remember being in a battle...In fact, the last thing he remembered was going to bed in his own home. He was even still in his pajamas...his blood soaked pajamas. Yoshirou then looked behind him and what he saw chilled him to the bone. It was his mother and father laying on the ground covered in their own blood. Yoshirou ran over to their bodies and held his parents sobbing...sobbing like he hadn't since he was a small child being held in his grandfather's arms after his parents' deaths.
"Mother! Father!...what is happening!!?? Why!? Why am I seeing this!?" Yoshirou screamed in a combination of anger, horror, and anguish.
"Yoshiiiirouuu," a deep malevolent voice emanated from behind him.
Yoshirou whipped around; tears still streaming from his eyes. Through the tears Yoshirou saw a large dark humanoid shape with glowing red eyes standing before him. Yoshirou had never been so frightened in his life. He was telling himself to get up and run; run as fast as he could; run far away, but his legs wouldn't listen. Yoshirou couldn't breathe. It was as if his lungs where being crushed. He felt as if his life was slowly being drained out of his body.
The humanoid began to speak again, "Yoshiiirouuu...your parents were just the beginning!"
Yoshirou tried to let out a scream as the humanoid pulled out a kunai and lunged toward him.
Yoshirou snapped awake screaming. He was safe in his room...it was still dark outside. He began sobbing uncontrollably..."It was just a dream...a dream...a dream...Mother...Father...why am I being tormented so?" He thought that he had outgrown these nightmares; he hadn't had one in months, but this one was the most intense and horrifying of them all. It the first time that he actually saw his parents' bodies. It was always just them disappearing, running away from him, or something like that. Something was different...wrong even; this didn't feel like a normal dream. He began wondering about the circumstances of his parents' deaths, and who their murderer was. Yoshirou sat awake crying for most of the night, until he finally cried himself to sleep.
