The sun was setting, making the beads of sweat on his brow glisten in the ever changing sunlight glow. It had been 3 hours since he left the junction where the roads of Suna, Konoha and Kiri met and instead of turning off towards Konoha, he had the sudden urge to venture off to Kiri. Just one of those things; you know? Since then, he had met 2 caravans of food and possessions that had been transported to Kiri from Suna. He didn't bother interacting or buying items off them and just said the simple greetings of hello and goodbyes. He had to save his breath, so he could save his energy as he hadn't slowed down his fast pace since the junction. This caused the sweat to appear.
Robin brought his hand up to his face and wiped off the sweat, not bothering to look at the quantity. His current plan was to visit the mizukage and to hopefully find out why he had the sudden urge to visit his village. But the presence he felt, the weird inkling of feeling he felt; drove him to take a sudden right. Skidding to an immediate halt, Robin took in a breath before taking a 90degree clockwise turn and began sprinting off in the general direction. He had entered thick woods, with a thick mist; yet it didn't see haunting, it didn't see daunting, it felt like a rollercoaster; unexpecting turns. Each one surprised him as he avoided pine tree after pine tree. He continued this weaving, this running for something that felt around 10minutes. Everything seemed boring, with the constant repetition of dodging trees and squinting through the mist: until it all took a plunge for the worst.
The speed he was running at, the mist, his tired self; 3 crucial factors to the reason behind his plunge. One second, he was running in trees; the next, he had cleared the tree line, tripped on a rock and was in mid air, about to soar into what looked like water below. Sh!t, how the f*ck did that happen? As soon as his thought had finished, he was submerged into the clear, cold, spring water below. He had estimated that he fell about 5 meters and it was a clear spring that most likely connected with the ocean far away. The bubbles had cleared from his eyes enough to open them and glance at his underwater surroundings. Immediately he noticed that it was a large round pool, lined with roots from the pine trees. He also noticed that it didn’t have a bottom and he could see light towards the bottom. Holding his breath, Robin brushed at his eyes to clear them and he practically shat himself at the sight before him.
A shark, massive in size, bigger than any he had ever seen in his entire life was charging at him; mouth half opened, hate in its eyes. Somehow, someway: his mind was sent into a mental frenzy and had a reflex action to perform several hand seals. He opened his mouth and shot out a huge amount of water, propelling him away from the jaws of the shark and with enough thrust to send him to the surface and shoot him 3 meters out of the water. However, the propulsion wasn’t hard enough to send him to the ledge of the pool and grimaced as his back slammed against the edge. This sudden jolt in movement practically saved his life as the massive shark crashed into the wall overhead. The pain in his back seared like being branded by a hot cattle prod. However, he wasn’t the worst affected and managed to look up to see the shark dazed and confused. Falling towards the water still, he performed a few hand seals extremely fast with what felt like a surreal reaction and watched as each of his 5 fingers glowed with chakra. The body of the shark, half a meter away; was falling with 77ton of force towards him. Luckily, if his predictions were right; he would be underwater by the time the shark hit him and it would feel like a feather hit him. Robin thrust his hand out, chakra engulfing it and placed it on the underbelly of the shark.
Immediately, 5 katakana of the 5 different elements appeared on the shark and the seal was placed into effect.
Robin crashed into the water below, smiling as his task was achieved. The shark crashed into him underwater, however it felt like nothing more than a ball hitting him. The shark instantly swam away prepared to charge him yet again. However, something was peculiar about the shark now; it had a white aura. The shark stopped and looked at him before closing its eyes and disappeared in a blinding flash. Robin resurfaced, took a breath, dove back underwater and noticed each of his fingers were imprinted with the seal he used on the shark. Except, in his palm were the kanji symbols meaning ‘Same’ [Shark in Romaji]. He went to the surface yet again and experimentally, brought his hand out of the water; noticing the symbols vanished. He also felt the hindering effect that he accomplished and learnt a new jutsu. Robin jumped out of the water and chakra walked on the surface. Something, like the sudden response to come to Kiri, told him to focus chakra to his hand and place it on the surface. He did so accordingly, and noticed as another huge shark appeared. It seemed he learnt to completely clone the shark with no faults.
Robin dispersed the shark happily. Maybe this was the reason he came here, maybe it wasn’t; who knows? Robin jumped out of the pool and ran back towards konoha. It would be a long journey back home.. all wet.
