Endan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. This jutsu allows the user to emit a jet of fire from his mouth.

Tei strolled into a small sandy area to train, setting her little bag on the ground at her feet. It was time to try Endan, the Fireball. She’d seen her brothers use it countless times and now that she was a Genin, it was her turn to learn.

Sighing, she made the hand signs that she’d seen her brothers use countless times and added just a bit of chakra behind it. However, when she breathed out, nothing happened… no blast of fire... nothing.

She cursed to herself, she tried it again, and again, and again. It never worked, no matter how much power she put behind it. Sitting down, she closed her eyes and tried to remember every time that she’d seen her brothers use Endan:

Tsubasa had mastered Endan when Tei was seven. She’d watched him training with Yuu. Sparring in the training area, Yuu had Tsubasa pinned down on the ground. Tsubasa had hissed at him, making the hand signs for Endan. Tei had watched as a little fireball, barely the size of her fist. It had hit Yuu in the stomach, forcing him to let go of Tsubasa so that he could throw his older brother off.

Her eyes flew open, the idea finally coming to her. Jumping up, she put her hands together, locking the fingers so she could make the hand signs for Endan. Taking a deep breath, she blew into her hands. A little jet of fire came out, but it was not good enough for him.

Putting even more chakra behind it, she unleashed a bigger jet, scorching a little stick that lay nearby. Smiling, she cracked her fingers and tried again. This time, she even managed to make the stick catch fire. Watching it burn, she felt accomplished and strangly happy.

When the stick had desintergrated into little pieces, she shook her head and headed for him, running so she could tell her brothers that she too, had learned Endan.
