A bird swooped to the ground and began pecking at the grass, searching for worms. Its little hunt brought it close to a pair of feet in black shoes, which belonged to the Genin lying on the grass. Ulkira was sleeping, taking a little nap before continuing his training. His nap, however, wouldn’t last long. Hopping along, the bird noticed the bug crawling on Ulkira’s hand. Jumping onto the hand, the bird looked down at the bug crawling slowly on the grey skin. Quick as a flash, the bird attempted to grab the bug, but it launched itself into the air, causing the bird’s beak to cut Ulkira’s flesh. The Uchiha’s eyes popped open as he felt the pain, and he sat up, causing the bird to fly away. Peering down at his cut hand, Ulkira frowned a little and reached for his nearby bag, from which he extracted a cloth that he wrapped around the cut tightly. Getting to his feet, Ulkira looked around. He was close to a lake, and he decided to take a little swim before starting his training. Heading over to the lake with his bag in his hand, he dropped it beside the bank of the lake and began stripping down to his boxers. Once he was done, he placed all his clothes into his bag, took a deep breath, and performed a cannonball jump into the lake, causing the water to rise up from its resting state. Popping his head out of the water, he took another deep breath before submerging himself once more as he swam around the lake’s perimeter. A few minutes later, he popped his head out once more, took another deep breath before going under and continuing his swim. After surfacing for a third time, Ulkira began to wonder if there was a way for him to stay under water even longer than his lungs would allow it normally. Suddenly remembering something his father had told him in his youth, Ulkira went under water and concentrated as he began using his chakra to form a barrier around his body openings. He could feel it working, and he opened his mouth to test it. Yes, it worked; no water flowed into his mouth. He could still breathe, because he was in a way breathing like a fish: he was using his chakra to extract the oxygen in the water around him, which he then breathed in. Pleased with himself, he continued swimming underwater until the technique ended, at which he resurfaced, stood atop the water, and began training another jutsu he had thought up. Brining his hands up, he formed three quick handsigns and sent a wave of chakra into the water around him, causing it to rise up and cover him in a dome of water. He looked at it, pleased with himself. It was another jutsu that he had come up with based on something his father had told him years ago.
