Name: Fuuton: Koketsu - Wind Release: Jaws of Death

Description: After forming the necessary handseals, the head and only the head from a mythical dragon is formed from wind and swoops quickly towards its opponent with its jaws open. The teeth of the jaws are as hard as steel and can be made to shoot out like kunai and the dragon head's bite is like a bite of slicing wind.

Dragons had always been majestic and mythical creatures that captured the mind's imagination, but they were also creatures that were held in the hearts of man, not in love but in fear for many myths associated dragons with disaster and powerful natural forces outside human control. Just as they could bring prosperity, so too could they take it away. That powerful image, was one that was seen even in jutsus. B-ranked and A-ranked elemental jutsu often had elements take on the shape of dragons or other beasts. Shunsuu himself wanted to be able to do that. However, the problem was that he was still a genin and didn't have the necessary skill to use a jutsu that could form the entire shape of a dragon yet. Perhaps it was easier to start with just part of the dragon. The body? No, it didn't seem as useful, but the head? The head of a dragon was fearsome and deadly, and it could bite. Biting people's arms off was certainly more intimidating than a headless dragon which could only flatten someone with weight.

He pictured the image of the dragon's head in his mind. The menacing teeth and jaws, the forked reptilian tongue and the large eyes that allowed it to identify its prey. Shunsuu moulded the chakra within himself, swirling his spiritual energy and his physical stamina to form chakra. Then forming the necessary handseals, he converted the chakra into wind chakra and began to shape it quickly. The outline flowed with the grace of a gentle breeze, yet on the inside was a raging gale that would be the offensive power of the dragon. "Fuuton: Koketsu!" he said to himself as he attempted the jutsu. The dragon's head was formed and it swooped high into the sky. Success. He was on the first step to becoming a Chuunin.

Name: Fuuton: Hitoawaparusu - Wind Release: Shock Pulse

Description: After forming the necessary handseals, the user can then thrust his palm forward or punch forward, to create a pulse of wind that is able to knock a person off their feet if they're within 20 feet of the user. At a point-blank range, the jutsu can alternatively be used to harm someone by knocking them out by placing the palm over the target's head or simply at close combat ranges to produce large enough pressure to induce pain and damage tissue.

In a fight, there were many factors to consider, but more importantly, a ninja could gain a huge advantage if they could knock an opponent down. It wasn't quite as good as immobilising or paralysing them, but it helped do the same job to an extent. By knocking someone down, even for one second, you would gain control of the tempo of the fight and dictate your opponent's movements. Further more, while they're knocked down, you would be able to press your advantage, perhaps to victory. Those were the elements that Shunsuu considered as he began to train his jutsu.

He wasn't the type of person to use jutsu for the sake of using jutsu, all jutsu had to have a purpose and he would only use them for their purposes. As he moulded the chakra within himself, he moved it towards his arm before forming the necessary handseals. As he finished the RAM seal, he thrust his arm forwards with an open palm showing, expelling the wind chakra in a pulse of wind. There was a woosh as it hit a nearby tree, blowing the leave all over the place. Yup, this was going to be a useful jutsu and the power of the pulse had other uses too. At really close distances, he was sure it would have the power to do more than knock someone down, perhaps apply enough pressure to actually knock someone out or harm them.

Name: Suiton: Shokuso - Water Release: Tentacles

Description: After forming the necessary handseals, 5 large tentacles (think large squid) form from out of the water and proceed to entangle and constrict the opponent with considerable physical strength (equivalent to that of similar sized boa constrictors) . The tentacles are solid and are as hard as rock, usually requiring a jutsu of equal or above strength to destroy them.

It was never his style to win fights by sheer firepower or jutsu strength. Instead, Shunsuu had always preferred using traps and deceiving his opponent to grant him victory. Of course, an important aspect of the way he fought, was that he used jutsu that woudl limit the mobility of his opponent. Control your opponent's movements and you win. That was the concept at least. Hence, he believed in the strength of jutsu that could disable and immobolise his opponents. What better tool to use, then a jutsu that could create constricting tentacles? There was the psychological factor, the primeval fear of slimy tentacles but the jutsu was also going to be efficient. If a jutsu didn't serve its purpose, it was a failure and Shunsuu didn't accept failure. He walked towards a large pond in his garden. The water there would serve the purposes of being the water source. Concentrating hard, he drawed the image of tentacles in his mind before forming suiton handseals.

By manipulating the water with his chakra, the jutsu formed large and hard tentacles. He had seen similar jutsu of course. There were jutsu that could form moving sharks in the water. The concept was similar but the level of skill required was different of course. After all, he didn't exactly make a giant squid of water, he merely formed the tentacles. He stopped thinking for a while and walked closer to his jutsu creation, prodding the tentacle. The result seemed good, and although he hadn't tested it on the field yet, he was sure it would have some use. "Suiton: Shokuso," he said to himself as he repeated the jutsu and formed the necessary handseals. Once more around 5 large tentacles were formed, and he made them constrict each other as the tentacles struggled with each other. It was slightly amusing and slightly scary at the sametime. He hated tentacles after all, but hell, if they were going to work against his opponents, then he'd use them. The jutsu was a success.

Name: Suitate - Water Shield

Description: After forming the necessary handseals, a large shield is formed from water. The shield can be as tough as steel and can be controlled by the user to orbit the user or simply to be moved to protect the user from a different direction. The shield can be made larger and stronger if there is more water avaliable. Shunsuu can currently only use the C-ranked version as he is a genin.

Another jutsu he needed was a proper defensive jutsu. It was true that he could dodge many jutsu and it was also true that he could use offensive or utility jutsu to defend, but the purpose behind those jutsu were not defensive in nature and it irked him, because they were simply not as effective at doing the job as he wanted. Thus a jutsu that had a purely defensive nature would not only work better, but also make it clear that he had the ability and the jutsu to defend himself. A shield not only had the perfect defensive imagery but shields were good at doing what they were supposed to be doing, which was of course, protecting the user. As with most water jutsu of course, he needed a water source and that was probably the only problem. He had a jutsu that allowed him to introduce water onto the battlefield, so it wasn't that much of a hinderment but nevertheless, he'd have to create some other defensive jutsu once he became a Chuunin.

Now it was time to actually train and use the jutsu. As per usual, he moulded the physical and spiritual energies inside himself to form chakra and he quickly formed the necessary handseals. As he finished the sequence with the ox seal, a shield of water rose from a nearby pond in his garden and it placed itself just in front of Shunsuu. Curious, he began to experiment with his control of the shield, making it orbit him and even using it to push objects. The shield was certainly hard, so it could defend against physical weapons as well as elemental attacks. He even kicked at it. It wasn't the best test of the shield's defense but he was confident it would live up to his standards.

Description: After forming the necessary handseals, the user is able to form large spikes of water on any surface of water that the user can see and the spikes can be as hard as steel. The spikes after being formed, also thrust themselves out like javelins to pierce and impale the opponent.

Among the jutsu that he used, Shunsuu realised that he had a lack of proper offensive jutsu. Indeed, he had many utility jutsu but he needed more jutsu that could be used to harm an opponent properly. The idea of strong spikes being formed from water appealed to him. After all, what was better than an offensive area of effect attack? It was true, that he didn't really need jutsu with killing-potential as a genin, but sometimes capturing someone or merely beating them was too hard. Sometimes it was necessary to draw blood, even to try and kill someone. This was a jutsu that allowed him to do that and it was a jutsu that set him on the path to becoming a Chuunin. It was the first step on many stepping stones to becoming a powerful and dangerous ninja. Of course, he did need a water source to use it but its offensive potential as a jutsu was great. He couldn't wait to try the jutsu out on the field but first, he needed to master it by training and practising it.

Shunsuu sat down in a meditative position, surrounded by water on what could be called a minature isle. He sat there legs crossed and eyes closed as he moulded his physical and spritual energies. The entire process happened very quickly of course and he formed the necessary handseals as he whispered to himself, "Suikasui." Large spikes of water were quickly formed and at will, they thrust off like large javelins capable of impaling a human being. It was certainly a jutsu that had the potential to kill, which was of course, exactly what he wanted. Slowly, he opened his eyes and walked on top of the water to grab one of the spikes of water. The tip was very sharp, so he didn't try to touch it but he moved his index finger up and down the spike. It was water of course, but it felt smooth and even metallic. It was certainly hard, probably as hard as steel. Now it was just up to him to use it.
