Name: Mask of Rakshasa
Appearance: Rakshasa takes after a silver oni, and has a menacing, yet crazed look on it's face. The mask has long white hair. Once bonded to Ken the mask forms to his face, moving fluidly as his face does underneath.
Rank: E
Special Abilities: The Mask of Rakshasa is able to communicate telepathically with a wearer. When speaking to a wearer it sounds as if someone is whispering in their ear to a wearer. Once a wearer agrees to become bonded to Rakshasa the mask creates two tattoos on the wearer, high upon their temples. These marks bond the wearer to the oni Rakshasa, allowing a telepathic link to be formed between the two. The tattoos are also used in the ritual summoning Rakshasa to the wearer. The mask is only one of many parts or Rakshasa. The more the bonded warrior can handle, the more pieces of Rakshasa are summoned onto the host.
Origin: Created by the smiths of the Oni no kuni, or Demon Country. They were able to seal Rakshasa away into a set of artifacts, thus splitting his power and making each piece on it's own benign. If all the parts of Rakshasa were to be brought together with a bonded host it is said the true power of the oni would manifest. Since such an event has never occurred, this is only speculation. The Mask of Rakshasa contains little power, but houses the consciousness of the oni.
Name: Clothing and Daisho (Or Paired Swords)
Appearance: The clothing consists of an kosode, hitatare, hakama, obi, and tabi with sandals. The inner most layer is white, with the outer layers being black. The daisho or paired swords are tucked into the obi. Each has a black saya and tsuka and a tsuba decorated in gold with the Ishikawa family crest. The blade of the wakizashi measures twenty inches long, while the katana's blade measures twenty-seven inches in length.
Rank: D
Special Abilities: This initial stage of dressing suggests the addition of armor in the future. When summoned it is in addition to the mask. Besides for the practicality of such clothes the addition of more piece of Rakshasa results in more influence from the oni. This causes the bonded host to be able to overcome the fear of death and pain, allowing the host to concentrate only on killing his enemies. The clothing also instills an increase in strength and durability of the wearer of 5%. This manifests in skin that acts more like leather then human skin. The increase in strength is more noticeable when the host is stronger to begin with, thus favoring a muscular host. The daisho, or paired swords, are a standard katana and wakizashi set with no special properties.
Origin: Part of the set of artifacts the smiths of Oni no kuni used to seal the Oni, Rakshasa. These items contain a small part of the oni's power.
Name: Manchira
Appearance: A manchira is a vest like armor composed of kikko(or brigadine) armor made from a single piece. It is wrapped about the wearer and tied with strings in the front.
Rank: C
Special Abilities: Adding the Manchira to the previous layers increases the strength and durability of the wearer by 50%. Muscles begin to noticeably become larger as they become blood engorged. The skin of the bonded host becomes like thick leather that would be found in armor. The daisho becomes chakra conductive to a special type of chakra that becomes available at this point in the summoning.
Destructive Chakra: A special chakra only usable by the bonded of Rakshasa. A host who has unleashed Rakshasa up to it's third level (Rank C) intuitively learns how to manipulate their chakra to mimic that of the oni, Rakshasa. This chakra, when released, carries kinetic and thermal properties. It can be released through unarmed attacks or through special chakra conductive weapons summoned in the third and subsequent levels of Rakshasa. When released through the use of unarmed strikes the chakra is most crude, exiting the body in the form of waves and blasts directed by the attack. When directed through weapons the chakra conforms to the weapon type, delivering blows that slash, stab, or cut when delivered through a blade or bash when delivered through a blunt weapon.
Techniques using destructive chakra are always C rank or higher. Rank is based on equivalent power of jutsu of the same rank. Thus a C ranked blast would be similar in destructive capability to a great fireball technique. Due to the intuitive nature of the use of these abilities, there is no waste in the chakra altering, even though a user may have bad chakra control when using normal jutsu.
Origin: Part of the set of artifacts the smiths of Oni no kuni used to seal the Oni, Rakshasa. These items contain a significant chunk of the oni's power.
Name: Gusoku, Kanabo, and Tanto
Appearance: A gusoku consists of suneate, haidate, Nodowa, Guruwa, dô, kote, sode, kabuto, and uwa obi. A Kanabo is a bashing weapon in the club and staff family. This Kanabo is metal from end to end with last half being the buisness end, covered in studs. The result is a heavy weapon, weighing in at roughly 45 lbs, that can break bones through overlying armor. The kanabo is a fairly thick weapon that is not easily broken. The Kanabo measures four feet in length. The tanto has blade measuring nine inches long, and has a black saya and tsuka.
Rank: B
Special Abilities: Adding the many pieces of the Gusoku to the previous gear provides a dramatic boost in strength and durability, both rising to 150%. The kanabo was where the majority of the oni's strength was sealed, and wielding it ups the users strength to a whooping 300%. The strength gained by the wielding of the kanabo is much needed to counter the weight
of such a heavy weapon. With the increased strength, a host is able to wield it without becoming sloppy or overburdened from the weapons weight. Both the Kanabo and tanto are chakra conductive to destructive chakra.
Origin: Part of the set of artifacts the smiths of Oni no kuni used to seal the Oni, Rakshasa. These items contain the majority of the oni's power.
Name: N/A
Appearance: N/A
Rank: A
Special Abilities: At B rank the bonded host has obtained all the raw power to be had from Rakshasa. At A rank the user intuitively learns to harness disastrous chakra. The mind of the oni also begins to seep over into the mind of the host, causing something known as red vision. It is called red vision because it is said oni only distinguish foes by the color they bleed, which is red. Once red vision has taken hold it becomes very hard to determine friend from foe.
Disastrous Chakra: Exhaled as a black mist, this chakra has a poison like effect on those it touches or who breath it in(other then the host). Immediate effects are weakening of the effected. This gets worse as time passes. After two continual rounds of breathing or contact the effected begins to feel violently ill, nauseous, and fatigued. After four rounds of breathing or contact the effected have built up enough of the harmful chakra in their system to have lasting effects. Lingering sickness persists for a week, plus an extra week per two rounds extra while in contact or breathing the mist. During this period fever occurs as well as boils, pox, or lumps depending on how lucky a person is. Medical treatment is advised, but be warned that the sickness is contagious, so caution should be taken.
Rank: S
Special Abilities: Once the user gains access to S rank they become strongly linked with the oni and are prone to something called battle rages if angered or badly wounded.
Battle Rage: Battle rages draw upon the full strength of the oni, substituting the chakra of the oni for the users chakra for the duration of the effect. While raging, the host cannot stop spewing disastrous chakra and will continue to attack until the rage has run it's course. If the host runs out of people kill it will turn on animals, buildings, or go looking for more things to kill and destroy. During a battle rage it is impossible for the host to distinguish friend from foe. Often an enraged host will stike at the person nearest or most vulnerable to attack. Rages can last for between one and six posts as determined by the roll of a six sided die, which represents how long it takes the host to wrestle power back from the oni.
Note: It is possible for a host to summon less of Rakshasa then he is capable of. However, once the entire set of armor is worn(B rank) the subsequent A and S ranks are forced upon the host as soon as he is capable of harnessing them. Therefore, it becomes increasingly dangerous to those around the wearer to summon Rakshasa after the host becomes of Jounin rank, when using more then the C rank.
