Description: Fuuton • Daitoppa is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Wind Element. After bringing his hand to his mouth, Orochimaru will blow a large blast of wind capable of leveling almost anything in its way. A variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Having sparred a few fellow ninjas, he had begun to realise that there was a gap in the usage of his jutsu. He needed a jutsu that would be able to block or atleast match with the jutsu of others. Something which he currently lacked. Shunsuu thought for a moment, it would be in the best interests, for him to get a wind jutsu, after all, the only element he had currently was water. Plus, only the higher ranked water jutsu had the capability to seriously injure an opponent, the lower ranked jutsus were more support or trap based jutsu.

Without a doubt, the jutsu he had to train was Fuuton: Daitoppa. It had both an offensive and defensive role, making it a useful jutsu for a genin like himself. Shunsuu clasped his hands to form the handseals that were necessary and took a deep breath. He concentrated on moulding the chakra within himself as he began to blow the air out from his lungs.

"Fuuton: Daitoppa!"

He aimed the large blast of wind towards some nearby trees in the training area - focussing his efforts towards there. It was a strong wind but not strong enough. Practice would make perfect however.

"Fuuton: Daitoppa!" said Shunsuu as he tried the jutsu once more - timing his breathing out to his very last hand seal, releasing his chakra into the wind to amplify its effects. This time the wind was stronger. With a satisfied grin, he sat down, a new jutsu in his arsenal.

Description: Fuuton • Reppushou is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Wind Element. After forming the needed hand seals, Nagato will send a strong gust of wind towards his target. When acting in conjunction with another thrown weapon, the wind can increase its power and deadliness.

Having grasped the basics of fuuton jutsu, Shunsuu embarked on his next jutsu training. He was now able to use Fuuton: Daitoppa fairly well, so he knew it wouldn't be too hard to learn another C-ranked wind jutsu. The only real difference, was that one was on a smaller scale and had more of a supportive application. Fuuton: Reppushou, also didn't require the user to blow out the gust of wind, instead the user sends a strong gust via their palms. He stood up from the ground and once more faced the trees. Closing his eyes, Shunsuu formed the necessary hand seals, moulding his physical and spiritual energies to form chakra that was then expressed into the wind.

With one step, he followed through with his right palm, forcing out a large gust of wind towards the trees. The leaves were easily blown off. He opened his eyes and examined the after-effects. It wasn't quite as powerful as he had hoped but it was good enough to push away an opponent. However, luckily the jutsu also had another common usage - that was - it was useful for speeding up a weapon, thereby increasing the force as a kunai pierces an opponent.

Shunsuu stepped back once more and prepared himself. "Fuuton: Reppushou!" he said to himself as he formed the necessary handseals. Just as he was about to use the jutsu, his left hand quickly grabbed out a kunai and threw it towards a tree as his right palm thrust out. The wind pushed through the kunai, increasing the speed of its flight as it buried itself into the wood. The fractures of the bark were far larger than an normal impact. It certainly worked.

Jutsu Name: Gyorai Senbon - Torpedo Senbon

Description: The user will throw or disperse senbon into the air and then plant them tip first into the earth. Using his chakra the senbon will travel into the ground. Then at his discretion, he can fire the nails from the ground through the feet of his target to nail them in place. He can then fire the remaining nails from the ground to cut his target to pieces. The variant Ninpou • Gyorai Shin was a Ninjutsu technique used by the thief Gosunkugi in the anime.

The most important thing with jutsu application was jutsu combinations. By using one jutsu, what if your intention is not to directly harm your opponent, but to set them up for an even larger trap? Multi-purpose jutsu that are more useful than originally meets the eye. Those were Shunsuu's favourite jutsu. Jutsu that could swindle the enemy or preparatory jutsu that could quickly set up a trap. What better jutsu was there that involved senbon then Gyorai Senbon? It was capable of briefly restricting an opponent's movement and it was also capable of seriously wounding them. It was a trap that could even be timed.

No doubt it would be an useful jutsu for the Chuunin exams. Shunsuu's Shogi friend had introduced him to the jutsu and he liked it. Now, he was sitting in the shade of the tree, observing a mouse that moved across the soft grass. For a brief moment, he felt the urge to have skewered it through the brain - not because of hatred but due to some curiosity as to how fatally the jutsu could be used. Quickly throwing some senbon into the air, he watched as gravity did its work. The tip of the senbon entered the group and then with the correct handseals, they were buried underneath it.

Shunsuu lazily controlled them as they popped out. He did not aim for the mouse but decided on what could only be a game of chase as a line of senbon seemingly popped out inches away from the stomach of the poor mouse. The timing was precise and there was almost no delay, furthermore due to the fact the senbon are directed by his chakra to go underground, it served as the perfect trap. The only limiting factor to such a jutsu is the amount of jutsu he had.

Jutsu Name: 99 Senbon Spray

Description: After the user performs the correct handseals, up to 99 senbons from the user's bag, pockets or hands are thrust high into the air by chakra before falling back down and scattering themselves in a radius of 15m. This rain of senbon can be aimed due to the user directing the senbon with his chakra.

"With the senbon trap jutsu down, I just need another jutsu to combine with it and to easily set it up while hiding its original intentions," thought Shunsuu to himself, "By using those two jutsu together, it's an effective combination that will break down my more stupid opponents. Furthermore it has other uses and it also looks aesthetically pleasing."

It was a jutsu without faults. Atleast in Shunsuu's opinion. Whether his opinion was valid or not, he would have to find out later. The concept of throwing up to 99 senbon into the air and doing so accurately, was impossible, atleast for a genin like him. So to have actually found such a jutsu was a bonus. He shook his bag and pockets to check that all senbon were correctly inside before he began to perform the correct handseals.

"Snake, Dragon, Ox, Hare."

Shunsuu looked up as his senbon were thrust high into the air. He directed them carefully - afterall - he didn't want to get hurt by his own jutsu. He left the senbon that posed no risk to randomly scatter into the ground around him, piercing the ground tip first. It was perfect to set up his other jutsu. Plus it was also a fairly AOE attack that would make it hard to dodge especially as he could direct the senbon as he pleased.

Description: An all-round utility technique that allows the user to quickly wound up wires, tie knots with wires or string for use in traps, or to control - within limits - the flight trajectory and direction of a small weapon such as a kunai, shuriken or other small projectile by using metal wire. Often the wire is already prepared before the battle so they are attached to senbon and the user may also attach them to his own arms so as to direct a thrown kunai or senbon. It doesn't require handseals but relies on manual skill.

Metal wires and string. Two highly important tools for shinobi but also tools that seem to be highly underrated and not used very much. Maybe its due to the fact that ninjas nowadays, were more focused on active battle but the amount of uses such equipment had were mind boggling. Plus, wires worked well with thrown senbons and traps. However, skill with wires wasn't exactly a jutsu but just that..a skill. It was something that took practise and experience. Luckily, being a genin, he had already been taught in the academy and also by his sensei on the basics but it would take practice to reach a level of skill to use wires reliably and accurately.

Thus, for two weeks, he resolved in spending four hours of his time a day, purely on wire-related skills. Shunsuu made basic wire traps, and literally honed on how to quickly attach wires to weaponry such as kunai. It was boring work but necessary work. If he was able to replicate skillful wire usage in battle, he would have an advantage plus it looked fearsome. Its psychological effects on an opponent could be very useful. Finally, after many days practise, Shunsuu had finally got his skill with wires up to scratch. It was just one step to preparing for the Chuunin exams.

With all the other senbon and senbon-related jutsu he had learnt. There was going to be a need to reload at some point. Afterall, he could at most carry around 200 senbon in his pouch and pockets and anymore would not only be overkill but hinder him at some point. They were small but on mass, they could weigh enough to make a difference in battle. He knew that if he used too much senbon in a jutsu combo, he would not have much left to repeat such jutsu. Therefore, it was imperative he had the ability to return the senbon to his hand so that he could quickly throw them or use another jutsu related to them.

First, he was going to practise the jutsu a couple of times. Shunsuu threw a couple senbon into the tree before beginning a set of handseals. Each time he did it, he became more familiarised with the sequence and improved until the jutsu worked. There were definitely some useful usages for the jutsu. Some that he would reveal in time to an opponent. He had also worked out two things. First, that it was only able to collect the user's own senbon and second, that there didn't seem to have any numerical restraints. Whether those two things were good or not, he wasn't quite sure but the fact he could only collect senbon in the vicinity meant that nothing strange would happen.
