Summoning

Ichigo ran down the corridor looking for a way out.The flood was right on his tail.It was going to engulf him any second now.In vain he tried performing Doton jutsus but nothing would work.He quickly turned left into a new corridor,it was simply never ending. Well apparently not because Ichigo could see dead end infront of him. 'Shit' is all he kept on repeating in his mind.He stopped at the wall and spun around. The flood had caught up to him and crashed straight into his chest. He was drowning, losing breath fast. As he let his last breath out he felt a felt a loud bump on his head.

Ichigo had fallen out of the tree he was sleeping in."Ungh.....I hate that dream..."said Ichigo to himself.Ever since his escape from Sunagakure he has had dreams where he always ends up dieing.It is because of this that he is sometimes afraid to go to sleep.He quickly gathered his things,fully knowing it was dangerous for him to stay in one spot for to long and headed towards the plain where he would train his new summon.He headed in a west ward direction.

After a long walk he reached a wide open plain.He set his bags down and immediately got to work.Ichigo grabbed a Kunai from his puch and stabbed his thumb.He rubbed the bloody thumb on a bird feather that belonged to his summon "Strawberry".Then he held the feather to the sky and his summon Strawberry popped out of the feather and swooped up elegantly doing all kinds of neat tricks in the air."Wow this is really cool...."said Ichigo to himself.

Though it appears that as long as significant pressure is placed against the blood in some form, the summon will be complete. There can be variations to the summoning steps, some ninja like Temari will wipe blood on her fan, then by swinging the fan the animal is summoned. Other ninja like Orochimaru wipe the blood across a snake tattoo on their arm first, then touch the ground.
