Two days had passed since that meeting were a few upsetting occurrences had taken place. The akatsuki leader had done well in instating unrest and uncertainty in the minds of his followers, as well as a general distrust among them. Almost all of them had questioned the leader in some way or another, and in turn, were met with vague or arrogantly avoiding responses. He was sure many of them were unhappy with this as he was, but it was of no real consequence to him. His plans were not Vice's plans, and he had his own agenda to fill, but at the moment, Akatsuki would provide him with some nudge of sanctuary and purpose, granting him access to things most shinobi only dreamed of. True he would still not consider his fellow criminals allys, but having access to them, should he ever need them, would prove to be most worth it in the future. Senkou thought to the girl to whom he had shown much distaste for, Tsuki she had said her name was. She had proven him wrong, at long last, another Nara who had some fire. True vice had shown some fire, but it was more wild and undirected, and ironically, not as dangerous in his eyes.
Senkou splashed some water into his face and then proceeded out of his bathroom and into his main quarters. The only clothing he had on were his black gi pants, allowing the rest of his body to be freed from constraint. His unique, self made sword leaned up against the wall, waiting, dying to be used. It was a powerful blade, that held the most unsuspected of traps, and he was very very proud of it. He took a moment to look over it before returning to the task at hand.
There was the threat that Vice may turn on him and make an attempt to destroy him, and if he did, Senkou was not 100% sure he could take him. Vices skills with shadow were, regrettably said, astounding. It was not the pure power of these that scared him at all, it was more the fact that he had no previous knowledge of these skills, and so could not plan for them in the present should he cross them in the future. Granted, he was the sole possessor of the shadow summons, which could prove useful, but that was still yet to be unseen. There was so much that was not known, however, Vice had told him a very valuable peace of information. He had said something about the use of genjutsu in his shadows, and that in itself, told Senkou what he needed to prepare for.
Genjutsu attacked the mind, and Senkou was a man with a high clarity of mind, making genjutsu a less useful tool on him, though he was far from immune. However, if Vice was a master, he would need more to be able to fight it off, his clarity of mind would not be enough. Not as it was. And with that thought, Senkou sat down, legs crossed, and began to meditate.
He looked inward as deep as he could, slowly slipping into the confines of his own mind and thoughts. The first challenge was this. How to use meditation as a weapon. The first step, would be to somehow retain his vision, as it was necessary to keep tabs on what the enemy was doing. He collapsed his inner defenses and opened his mind to th world around him, reaching out while steadily diving deeper in. It was an odd concept, and it took him a while to manage it. It was slow at first, only able to do one and then the other at first. Then as time went on, he began to master doing both at the same time, though it remained a slow process, but as he built momentum, the speed grew, and he began to submerge faster. His mind lit up with a new world, suddenly able to see a spectral version of what he would be seeing should his eyes be closed. Everything had a purple tint to it, and it seemed very ghostly indeed. It was an odd sensation, but he was comfortable with it.
Senkou remained like this for a few moments before continuing on with the training process of his mind. He was not going to stop until he pushed the bounds in every possible way. The next and final step that he had in mind for now was to gain the ability to attack while in this state. He had achieved sight, which would allow him to target and then attack with ease. While maintaining the spectral imaging he now possessed, he began to dig into a new aspect of his spiritual side, targeting his own chakra network, and seeking to forge a new found connection.
Slowly the tendril of his mind began to wrap around the invisible passageways and tap into them, creating a direct link. It took a few minutes, but he was able to bypass his bodies natural defenses and achieve access. The flow of chakra was now at his command. Now there was only one thing left to do, see if he could exercise that control. He filed through all the jutsu he had in his possession, trying to decide which would be the best viable choice. He settled for one he would be able to most easily see the effects of.
He focused his chakra to the front of him, creating a bout of wind energy before his body. Then when that was complete he molded it into several thin slivers of it, needles of wind chakra, nearly invisible. This was his Windy Needles jutsu. Finally, he let go, and the needles flew forward, showering through his wall, allowing light to stream in through little pinholes. Next he had to see if all he was seeing was a vision, or truth. He retracted his mind, and lazily, opened his eyes to see the beams of light shining through ad the several new holes in his wall.
The good news was, he had with surprising ease mastered this new skill, but now, he had to patch up his wall. Such was a small price to pay for what he had earned.
