Mai Okami Tentousi [Awaiting Approval] Empty
PostSubject: Mai Okami Tentousi [Awaiting Approval]   Mai Okami Tentousi [Awaiting Approval] EmptySun Nov 22, 2009 12:02 am

General Information
Name: Mai Okami Tentousi

Nickname/Alias: (S rank shinobi only, Please only give one or 2 nicknames. These names are to be implemented in RP as another name your known by. This is to be part of your 'legacy')

Age: 10

Gender: Female

Looks:
Spoiler:

Her physical appearance is the very image of youth and innocence. Mai has lengthy dark brown hair that falls just above her waist. Pale skin, and a pair of big, round dull crimson colored eyes that hold a slight pinkish hue. Her clan symbol, the 'wolf' kanj is permanently tattooed onto her forehead in her own blood, hidden by her bangs. She is very slender and lean, with long arms and legs. Because of the lesser demon sealed within her, she has gained several canine like features, such as claw-like fingernails, fang like teeth, as well as a large pair of wolf ears and a tail.

Her attire consists of a pale rose colored kimono, that is a bit too large for her petite form. She rarely has her hair pulled back, and wears only a pair of white socks on her feet. On the back of the kimono, there lies her clan symbol, the simple 'wolf' kaji embroidered in bold black. She prefers not to wear her Sunagakure headband, though she carries it with her in the small brown pack she lugs around on her shoulder, where she carries various other items, such as extra clothing, hairbrush, bandages ect.

Personality: Mai is antisocial, one could go so far as to call her emotionless even. She spends most her time wandering about the streets of Suna, her companions, Yami and Seiren. Born visually impaired (blind) she relies solely on the two for guidance, having heightened her other four senses immensely. She also has a cat, whom she named "Bakemono" or, "monster" for his feisty behavior. Mai is never alone, for Bakemono never leaves her side, and she always is accompanied by at least one of her two wolf companions.

One would find that she is very submissive when confronted by anyone, complying with almost any request. She loves reading and is extremely intelligent when it comes to the ninja aspects of her life, otherwise she is hopelessly confused. She has a habit of analyzing every situation she is involved with, or otherwise around, having to look at it in a logical perspective, just like her father. Everything having to have a logical explanation. She isn't close to anyone of the human race as of yet, but will become extremely attached if the chance ever arises. She doesn't hold many memories of her past other than the frequent tragic visions of her father.

Personality Trait's: She is oblivious to her rather annoying habit of referring to herself in third person.

Catch Phrase: (Does your char have any catch phrase's? Optional)

Background Information Pre Academy Arc- Mai had been born into the Okami Tentousi, which resided in Iwagakure, the first and only daughter of the Head of clan's main guard; Aoyama Okami Tentousi. She was deemed visually impaired shortly after her birth. Her father always told her of how much she resembled her mother. The girl had never met her mother, but had been told various stories that centered around the happiness the woman, and her father had shared together. She had never been clearly answered as to what happened to the woman, just that she was simply..gone. Her father had told her countless times that Mai and himself would be just as happy with her mother in heaven, smiling down on them. He had said he would love his daughter enough to make up for her; if not more, and that he was both her mother and father in one. And that he was..the perfect guardian. Mai loved this man more than life itself; he was her everything, and more. She was a bubbly, cheerful child; all because of him. Even though they had faced challenge after challenge because of her 'disability,' everything always happened the way it was supposed to; and that was okay, because they had eachother to lean on. Young Mai was raised around the highest of authorities in her clan, with her father holding the title of the Head of clan's personal guard. She learned, from a very young age, to always respect and obey the orders of your superiors; and to never question them under any circumstances, no matter how you may feel about the matter. She understood; her father often was conflicted with his personal feelings on the matter, and his duty to follow through with the order. In the end, it came to be the order; always the order.

Mai, being Aoyama's only child, secretly became lonely at the times when her father was assigned a mission. However, she was left in the care of various personal favorites of hers. Her cousins, Yao, Hana, and Riku. Yao was considered a man worthy of envy, nicknamed, "Shiro," due to his tragic past. His younger brother, Riku, was born a cripple. The Head of clan did not tolerate any weakness for his army of warriors. He had ordered for the execution of the young boy. Yao pleaded over and over again for him to reconsider. The two brothers had a relationship similiar to the one between Mai and her father. They lived solely for eachother. Unfortunately, there was no compromising with the Head, and the order for the boy's execution was to follow through. And so began Yao's crimson painted rebellion. He ran, ran far away with his dear brother and cousin in arms, brutually striking down any who dared to stop them. Yao and Hana were close knit as children, Hana often acting as the older sister and/or mother figure to Yao as they grew. She had always been strange, with a rather extreme fetish for extravagant clothing, and seemingly emotionless, but her heart had always been in the right place. After a year of living life as a fugitive against the Ookami Tentousi, they had finally caught up with them, capturing all three of them, and hauling them back to Iwa. Yao had stepped up and taken Hana's punisment, saying she had taken no part in his random 'crime spree,' that he had forced her. Mai was no longer the only blind member of the esteemed clan. Soon after the gruesome events, Yao had come to an agreement with the Head, fleeing to Suna with Hana and Riku untouched.

Even though Yao was now confined to the Wind Country, it didn't stop Mai from coming to see them. Arrangements were made so that whenever her father was assigned to a mission, they would act as her 'babysitters.' Some other favorites of hers would be Aoyama's long time company, as well as partners, Yami and Seiren. They had been around ever since her father was a Chuunin. They were her best friends, as well as mentors, apart from her father of course. Seiren wasn't a full blooded regular wolf, but rather a well trusted advisor to the Head, who just preferred to stay in her 'wolf form' at most times. It wasn't a secret that Seiren and Mai's father had been lovers at one time, nor was it a secret that the woman still possessed strong feelings for him. Yami was a full blooded wolf and was currently courting the woman, despite the painfully obvious fact that she was still in love with his good friend and comrade. The two had become fiercely protective over the young girl, completely attached to her by the time she could speak. In general, Mai had gone through life sheltered, happy and healthy with the way things were. Everything she was faced with, she came out of it with a valuable learning experience, and a bright smile on her face. Her close knit family, though different from most children, saw her as a truly pure individual, with a big heart.

Academy-Early Genin Arc- Mai was enrolled into Iwagakure's Academy at the age of 5. Early, yes, but with a bundle of recommendations courtesy of the Head of clan, she was accepted. Being the intelligent child she was, she had little problem with her tasks. Virtually, the only obstactles she faced were things relating to her 'disability.' Seiren and Yami were allowed to attend with her, though, mostly Yami accompanied her. Thanks to the jutsu her father had taught her, among other things that he taught her, like reading braille, things were made considerably easier for her. The jutsu was comparable to the Yamanaka ability of the "Mind Transfer," although it differed. It allowed Mai, and either Yami and Seiren to 'share' their eyes for a limited amount of time. The girl would be able to see exactly what the other saw, giving a new meaning to the phrase, 'I saw it with my own two eyes.' She was excelling academically, yet spiraling socially. It made her nervous, though she would never admit, being around so many new people at once. Despite having Yami at her side, she suffered from severe anxiety due to being away from her father every day, even if it was routine. Over the next year, she continued to soar in the Academy, remaining friendless for the entire time she attended, all escept for a single, odd exception, naturally, not of the human race. While strolling home with Yami in the late evening, they came across a kitten, no more than a week old, all by its lonesome, sprawled out in a fair patch a grass. Feeling quite sympathetic for the scrawny creature, Mai scooped it up in her arms and carried it home for her father to examine. The Head would not be amused.

Upon arriving home with the pathetic creature, she was met by her father's surprisingly, amused behavior, him simply saying: "A--a cat..?" [insert hysterical laughter as follows.] They were able to quickly nurse it back to health, discovering that it was of the male gender. The kitten began to develop a defiant, rambuncscious side, biting and clawing anything within sight and/or reach. For this less-than-desirable trait, he earned the name 'Bakemono,' or monster. Despite all evidence, the small kitten grew to be a permanent companion to Mai, developing a sort of crush on her you could say. However, just because he could be affectionate toward the girl, didn't mean in the slightest that she wasn't subject to his frequent moodswings. She tolerated him for the most part, and so he gained himself a solid spot within Mai's makeshift family, as well as her heart. And so, her attending the Academy continued, without complication for the majority of the situation. Considered a sort of favorite by her teachers above her fellow pupils, she was always so polite and cheerful, not to mention extremely intelligent as already known. Another of her desirable traits would be that her learning experiences were never hindered by that of distractions from friends. Mai was surpassing her classmates by several years mentally, and was several years of age younger than nearly all of them. Aoyama would often learn of these achievements, going to brag and boat shamelessly about his precious daughter to family, friends, and comrades. Proclaiming it the quote: 'Single most proudest moment of my life,' Mai finally graduated from the Iwagakure Academy after just four short years, becoming a Genin at the youthful age of just nine years old.

However, it was soon to be another time of tragedy within the clan. Aoyama was now in Yao's position, recieving brutal punishment for disobeying the Head's orders while carrying out yet another mission. Mai had been forced to accompany him for this so-called 'honor,' Seiren and Yami at her side. Despite not being able to actually see the ritual, the horror of it all remained just as vivid in her mind. The stomach-churning scent of his blood seeping from his countless cuts and bruises, his ear-spitting cries, pleading for them to remove his daughter from the premises. Even though he was dealing with the unbearable pain his body was forced to endure, her father's focus centered completely around Mai. He was coaxing her fear, lying straight through his teeth saying he was alright, and that a little soreness never hurt anyone. She hadn't known it then, but she was crying, sobbing, screaming for them to let him go, for them to take her instead. They ignored her. She wasn't able to remove the image of him she had created. That sigle, god awful image of him suffering, bleeding, crying. She had never seen her beloved father looking so defeated, so broken. He had always been so cheerful and happy. His bubbly, childish personality was what she loved most about the man, and they were taking that away. It wasn't long after that Aoyama's hoarse pleas went silent altogether. They had killed him, without any regret nor remorse. Mai knew that many 'fugitive' clan members were killed this way, quite often in fact. She never dreamed though, that the Head was heartless enough to order the murder of his main guard. Never say never.

The Past Year-Current Arc: The young girl was sentenced to leave Iwa, never to return. Yami, Seiren, and Bakemono had obviously followed along with her. It was decided that they would make their way to Suna, in search of Yao and the others. Having just lost her beloved father, as well as being evicted from her clan, and home country, Mai proceeded to shelter herself from anything and everything, including her emotions. Their search for Yao and the others so far had been completely in vain. It was as if they literally vanished into thin air. They moved from hotel to hotel, restaraunt to restaraunt soon running severely low in the financial department. Seiren's tobacco and alchol 'requirements' were the main source of their sufferings. Currently the four still haven't found a permanent home and/or shelter seeing as virtually everything presently costs money. Mai is still struggling with regaining her emotions, and is already beginning to lose memories of the father she loved and adored. She has not been placed on a team as of yet, and until then she will remain in the shadows, watching and observing. *Note: (The combined product of lazyness, and the overall 'meh' of Thanksgiving, and a hint of writers block.)

...His golden eyes shown with uninterest, perhaps even disgust as he let them fall upon her scared, frail trembling, and completely bare form. She was sprawled across the cold, wooden floor, whimpering with tears cascading from her dull blue eyes. She knew it would do her no good to cry, most likely just anger him. Her blood ran cold as she heard footsteps suddenly glide over the floor, stopping just beside her. Before she knew it, she was cradled in his arms, his fingers tucked beneath her chin, forcing their eyes to connect. His lips moved at that moment, uttering but a few, quiet..yet cold words. 'You brought this upon yourself..my dear sweet Saiya..' She merely nodded, closing her eyes in order to appear calm in front of this sadistic monster holding her. Stiffening slightly as he leaned down, she cried out loudly as he suddenly began to kiss her lips rather roughly, causing her to thrash about in his hold. This was wrong, everything about this current situation was wrong, it scared her; no TERRIFIED her to no end...

Her eyes opened ever so slightly, releasing her mind from it's re-occuring prison as a pair of pale blue eyes stared through disheveled silk bangs. The girl was flat on her stomach, head laying to the right, giving her a view of the wall across the from the bed she was laid upon. Blankets were tossed away, landing in a crumpled heap on the floor near the side of the fair sized bed. No movement could be detected, aside from the gentle rise and decline that associated with her steady breathing. Arms stretched above her head, her hands had formed partial fists around the thin white sheet covering the matress. That dream again. Or more like that NIGHTMARE. The elegant fitted kimono that usually dressed her petite body was now only covering her lower waist, leaving her back, as well as chest, bare. She was indeed consciously aware of this fact, and wasn't the least bit conflicted by it. Saiya's second personality, better known as 'Kagai' apparently detested having to be constantly bound to the nuisance of clothing, yet always left the timid young girl's -physical- lower areas covered, for obvious reasons. And, since her back was facing the outside, it wasn't as if someone could actually catch a glance at anything. Also..this was her apartment. There were only two others that lived here with her, and there was not anything they hadn't seen at least once before.

Releasing her grip on the the now, wrinkled sheets, a mute sigh escaped her slightly parted lips as she let her hands gradually trail back down to her sides, finding the clean embrace of the sleeves of her kimono. Working until she could feel the silk hugging around her shoulders, Saiya slowly positioned herself on her side, moving as close to the edge of the bed as possible, and still feel safe from the sensation of falling. Lifting herself away from the bed as much as she could manage, she balanced that weight on her bent elbow. Her pale eyes shifted toward the closed door as the gentle sound of footsteps met her sensitive ears from outside. Two sets of footsteps. One human, the other animal. Not even minutes passed as the footsteps seized just at the door, followed by a small 'clink' sound as the doorknob slowly began to turn, and open, revealing a young boy, about two or three years of age. His innocent features were lit by a wide grin the moment his smoldering golden eyes landed on Saiya. She returned it a few seconds later, one of her rare, sweet smiles gracing her features, smiles reserved solely for him. Bubbly laughter erupted from the child as he bolted foward stopping at the edge of the bed, grinning wider at her. Her eyes softened out of their dulled, blank state as she held the smile for him, allowing a slight laugh to pass her lips. Both looked up as another entered the room. The smokey black wolf just continued to make its way over to the bed, leap up, and calmly stand over the girl, head bent down toward her. She gave an audible sigh as she reached up an arm, grasping at the base of the back of its neck as firmly as she could. Leaning away from her, the wolf carefully stepped back over Saiya, all the while, making sure she kept her hold on him.

Eventually, she was sitting up, working to get her legs over the side of the bed, with the help of both the wolf, and the child. Once she was fully stable, she then turned her attention to her loose kimono. Her company paid little to no mind to this, seeing as the three had been in countless situations in which she was exposed, even completely bare. Nevertheless, the timid girl couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed, though it wasn't shown on her face. A low husky bark came from the large wolf as he turned toward her, locking their gazes. You're just wasting your energy, ya know..It's not like there's anything to look at anyway. He gave her a sly, cocky look, before nodding his head toward the boy and seemingly rolling his hazy blue eyes. ..And I doubt the kid can even register any of the shit that he sees. That earned him a frown from the withdrawn girl. They both knew the boy couldn't understand anything the wolf said, because he wasn't raised under Inuzuka like she had been back then, but she deeply protested cussing around him, around children, around ANYONE. He simply brushed her off, gently sliding off and away from the bed, Saiya following. She could stand as well as walk, decently, with assistance that is. Fortunately, she wasn't that tall, and the shaggy-coated wolf stood at her ribcage which made it rather easy to be her support, not to mention that she wasn't much heavier than the hyperactive boy.

Pacing himself, his overall objective was to get the frail girl in the manual wheelchair but a few feet in front of them, safely, and without causing her pain. This had become their daily routine over the past two years. Help Saiya out of bed in the morning, get her in her chair. It was routine, continuous..normal. The wild, yet domesticated canine let up a wolfish smile at the thought of this. He had become so absorbed in watching over her, sheltering her, that he had ultimately failed to realize how far she had come since back then. Grimacing at the image entering his mind, he shook his head violently. The day they had found her. He had never seen Saiya so scared, so broken. A local civilian had stumbled upon her, immediately reporting to the Hokage. Naturally Ookami was first on the scene. Ookami-- The wolf was jolted from his thought by a calming, quiet voice etched with worry, followed by a gentle shake of his fur. "Yami-kun..Y-yami-kun?" Saiya was looking at him, genuinely concerned. As he met her gaze, the wolf gave a slight nod as if to reassure her he was alright, refusing to say anything that could potentially upset her. During Yami's ongoing train of thought, he had automatically continued strolling toward the girl's chair. They found themselves in front of it as she let out a small laugh, witnessing the wolf's expression as he merely stared at it. This time around, the child actually aided in getting her in the chair, and once she was secure, -and comfortable- Saiya offered to take them out for breakfast.

Yami, ignorantly had to add his input concerning the situation..If only you weren't so helpless, then MAYBE you could actually MAKE something for a change instead of always going somewhere to eat. Takiyama-kun's eventually going to want a home cooked meal from his mother, ya know.. like all the other kids. Not to mention he's going to want to go to the Academy one of these days, just like I wanted an eligible partner, but I guess we all can't get what we want.. He smarted off. Now, the girl knew his obnoxious sense of humor, and that he meant no harm, yet he did pinpoint a rather sensitive spot. She couldn't do much of anything by herself, thus taking various options away from her young child in life, when she wanted him to have everything she didn't, and so much more. The reason she had drifted apart from the Inuzuka clan was to lift the burden of having to constantly worry over her, constantly tending to her needs. Perhaps Takiyama would have been more happy, more privilaged if she had left him with the Inuzuka. But Saiya couldn't bear the thought of leaving him.."Mother Knows Best," is what they say, yet "knowing" what's best, and "doing" what's best are two entirely different concepts. She knew very well that she was being incredibly selfish. However, he was her only drive as of present day. Her only means to not give up, to strive for life. She could feel the tears running down her pale face, two pairs of of worried eyes burning holes into her head as she continued to cry silently. It was no one's fault really, it was simply the truth. No matter how much she yearned to change it, for the sake of her beautiful son.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
High-pitched shrills of laughter traveled about the perimeter of of the park, as well as overlapping warnings and shouts only to be heard by her ears. To any other person it would be heard as the excited laughter of a child, and a series of desperate howls, whimpers and barks. Takiyama was currently cluthing to a very annoyed looking wolf, forcing the poor canine to have to drag the hyperactive youngster around the open space of the lush green surrounding. GAH! W-WHAT THE HELL?!?! Kid, do I look like some sort of pony ride to you?! Rrr! SAIYA!!! The girl simply let up a small smile as she was summoned. She sat back away from the two, watching with only half consciousness as to what was happening. Her poor short-tempered companion continued to try and reach out to her, and was only answered by that same meaningless smile. She was pre-occupied with her mind, thinking about anything and everything. Breakfast had been eaten, and she had seized the tears. Now..they were in the park, even though is was still very early in the morning. It was only the three of them, -as well as some small animals running about- and it was rather peaceful. She thought about how long they would stay today, seeing as they always came here after breakfast, to let the boy burn off some energy. This led her to think about who would come today. It usually stayed just them, maybe a few others, but they never chose to interact. Her eyes cast downward toward her lap as she brought up a hand, fingers lightly brushing over her cheek, or rather the fang-like marking that dawned both of her pale cheeks. It was the mark of the Inuzuka. She was not ashamed of it, nor would she try to conceal it if by some rare chance a fellow clan member were to confront her today. However, she would not return, and if needed, she woulld boldly tell them this.
Slowly, her head raised, her eyes landing on the bright eyed, cotton candy haired boy. Happy and carefree as always. Her lips formed another one of her sweet smiles at the sight of him chasing a random butterfly. The way only a mother could smile upon her precious child. He truly was the apple of her eye. A common passerby would simply assume that Takiyama was perhaps her younger sibling, maybe even a cousin. No one would -willingly- come to the conclusion that he was indeed Saiya's flesh and blood offspring, seeing as she was but the age of 13, and her youthful appearance led people to believe she was even younger than that. She went along with the facade, fearing what people would make of her otherwise, never allowing her to explain her story. Takiyama just recently started to speak but a few words each few days, and she wondered how long it would be before he could say "okaa-sama" clearly. It worried and excited her all the same. Once he in fact could, would everyone actually start to piece things together, or just assume that he saw her as a mother figure..? Her biggest fear was that someone would take him away from her. She knew that probably was the best thing for him, but Saiya was still so young, selfishness came with the territory. The sting of fresh oncoming tears washed over her senses, accompanied by a sense of heaviness, the pain of being sad...
Firstly nice application.
- But i would suggest increasing your age from 8. It is unrealistic that a 8 year old would become a genin atleast 10 or 11 if you want to go for the younger age. 8 is bordering on academy. ^^
*Edit: Mai has several knowledge of several pressure points within the human body.
With no indication of medical knowledge would would have to describe how she knows these pressure points, please describe better, and they would have to be limited.
After that it shall be approved.
