Combat Training [Open]

In a year of intensive, specialist training away from the official teachings of the academy, Yuki had learned far more than she had expected. That said, she had not yet had a chance to test her newfound talents. Indeed, even her teachers and peers had no idea of her capabilities because she had not had the opportunity to reveal them. For a fleeting moment she had wondered whether a supervised training fight would be a better idea, in case anything went wrong. The thought had left her as quickly as it had appeared, her confidence and determination unshaken. She knew her strengths, weaknesses and limits - there would be no mistakes.

The training grounds in Sunagakure were somewhat basic. A dusty, outdoor arena with walls made of the same beige sandstone as most of the village. The arena floor was expansive and there was more than enough room for a good spar. Yuki was currently standing on top of one of the walls and hopped down to the ground, landing deftly with a small updraft of dust as she did so. As she straightened up, she heard the faint footsteps of someone approaching the training grounds. At last. She thought to herself, unable to hide a grin at the thought of testing her skills.

A slim woman of medium height, long black hair, and wolf ears walked into the arena. Rin had no idea that a young genin was present at the time, but when she walked in, something in the corner of her eye caught her attention. When she looked at the figure standing in the arena, she saw a young genin female looking in her direction. "Well, it would seem that I'm not the only female around here is likes to train alone,'' she said from across a distance.

Unlike other shinobi, Rin liked to train alone. She was prety much alone most of the time, unless she had to go somewhere with the Kazekage. Being the Kazkage's bodygaurd was nice, but he never really did much, and he never went out of the village much. Now that i think about it, that man is almost as boring as my older brother used to be. She thought to herself as she remembered all of the times that she had complained to her mother about her older brother being boring. If only she would've known that he was going to be killed during the Chuunin Exams only a month later.

The newcomer was clearly older than Yuki. Apart from her features, she carried herself differently too. She was still a little distance from the Genin, and when she spoke Yuki could only just hear her. "I guess so." The young kunoichi replied, calling over to the woman. Yuki made the assumption that the woman was at least one if not two ranks above her own, given that she was a good few years older. In fact, now that she considered it, the young Genin thought she recognized the woman from around the village. A Jounin - I'm almost certain. She thought to herself as she tried but failed to picture the exact moment she had glimpsed the woman before.

"Well," She called out again, "You can join me if you wish or train over there. Whatever suits you." She finished. Returning to her solitary training for now, she drew two chakra blades and slotted her fingers through the holes in the handles. Adjusting the positioning of her feet, she began a quick sequence of movements and strikes into the air. Her motions were fluid and swift, leaving no weak points.

Rin laughe slightly, and smiled her fanged grin. "You saw me with the Kazekage, Yuki," she it it loud and clare so that Yuki could her her over the training. "The first time you saw me, I was with the Kazekage. I"m his bodygaurd, and long time friend," Rin spoke smoothly, aand began to make her way over to the girl who was swinging her chakra blades in the air instaed of at an opponet.


As she made her way over to Yuki, and came to a stop infront of her she spoke softer and more authoritively, "If you really want to train, you should train with a partner, it always helps when you can simulate an actual battle, instead of being alone and swinging at nothing but air." She shifted slightly and closed her eyes. A moment later, a black wolf was standing in her place. "Now that I'm in this form, I'm ready to teach you a few things about training with a partner," the wolf spoke in the same voice that Rin spoke in.

Yuki watched carefully as the kunoichi approached, not stopping her striking pattern until she was almost within the blade's range. She tucked them back into her item pouch and looked straight at Rin. It seemed that the Jounin was going to help her train, and Yuki kne she'd be a fool to decline the offer. Nodding once as Rin spoke, she was a little surprised when the woman transformed into a wolf. "Huh." She muttered, not really sure what to make of it.

So I'm going to be training with a wolf. Maybe fighting it? She wondered, her hand brushing her item pouch as she thought about her choice of weapon against such an opponent. A feral animal would attack directly, so Yuki assumed it would be a good idea to keep away from it and use a long ranged weapon. Her hand ran over the rolled-up form of her Kusari-gama, tucked away in her pouch.

She paused just as she was about to remove it. I shouldn't underestimate my opponent. If she is able to get close, that weapon is worthless... She stopped just as that thought entered her head, remembering the technique she had learned to counter this very problem. Shaking her head at her own foolishness, she pulled out the Kusari-gama. It had an eight-inch handle and a twelve metre chain. At the end of the chain was a cluster (three) of small, teardrop-shaped weights. "You seem to know my name already, but I do not know yours...?" The Genin questioned, still unsure how she would be training with the wolf.

Rin, watching Yuki's movements, smirked and said aloud, "No matter how much you plan, I can still avoid you because I hear everything that you're thinking Yuki." The wolf sat on its haunches and looked directly at Yuki. "If you are willing to fight me, you will see what I'm talking about," she said slightly lower than before.

Rin stood up and said,"First I need to do one little thing." She changed back into her human form and removed the wrist and ankle weights from her body. As they fell and hit the floor, they made large craters in the ground. Rin then shifted back into her wolf form. "That's much better, now I don't have to feel like I'm moving too slow," she said with a slight smirk on her face once more.

Yuki's first thought was that the woman could have some level of psychic ability, though she would be the first that the Genin had heard of to possess such a talent. "So what, I can't think in this fight? Training me to act upon instinct does seem like something a feral animal would do." Replied the kunoichi, somewhat annoyed at the woman's attitude. "Then I guess that's what I'll do." She said determinedly, every muscle in her body tensing to act in response rather than upon forethought. She tried to keep her mind empty of any plans for the fight, surrendering to the notion of instinctive combat. Yuki hopped away, a good ten metres away from Rin. She held the kusari-gama deftly in her hands, the coiled chain ready to extend at a second's notice. "You still owe me a name, wolf-mistress." She called out to her opponent.

Rin laughed darkly and began walking closer to Yuki. "Oh come now, you can't tell me that you've never wanted to be just like me, acting upon your primal instinct to kill, every fullblooded human has," she said as she began to walk slightly faster. Rin came to a stop after she watched Yuki begin to want to move away and said, "As for my name, I'm Rin Ukiku, leader of the Ukiku clan and body gaurd for the kazekage"

"By calling me feral, you're only provoking me, you see, I'm only half human, the rest is demon and my demon is quite blood- thirsty ," she began to explain. "The more you push me, the more blood I will want to bring... I suggest that you don't make me want to kill you."

Rin Ukiku...so this was Yuki's newly appointed sensei. The situation was now almost ironic, facing off against a dangerous sparring partner who was, though she didn't seem to know it, her teacher. Yuki decided to keep the information quiet for now. "I trust in my abilities and senses, but I have no desire to regress to a primal level." She answered evenly and honestly. "And I know you won't go so far as to kill me - as bodyguard to the Kazekage you hold a position of high regard. A killer would never get so far." She spoke evenly, her words making sense to herself and hopefully to Rin.

Conversation aside, Yuki was still being approached by an animal who hungered for battle. Allowing the chain hung over her arm a little slack, the kunoichi began to twirl it expertly, watching for an opening. The spinning increased in pace and Yuki lent even more chain to the weapon, its circle getting larger and larger. A couple of times Yuki lashed the weapon out toward Rin, only to pull it back a second later and resume spinning. It was a warning - don't come too close.

Rin licke her muzzle and laughed a dakr, nearly demonic laugh. "Before I became friends with the Kazekage, I was nothing but a murder my dear...The Kazaekage holds me in high regaurds, yes, but that doesn't mean that I still don't hold evil inside my heart," Rin spoke evenly, though she was starting to become anxious. Even though Yuki lashed the chain out at her, she didn't even flinch. Rin's concentration was never broken by the likes of Yuki, and it never will be.

"Though you think I'm going to fight you hand to hand, I'm not...I'm going to teach you the meaning of darkness," she said, a low rumble coming from her chest and working its way out of her mouth as a growl. Rin's inner demon was trying to come out, and it would most likely be a disaster if it did. Without even moving from her spot, the color of the wolf change from black, to black and orange. Rin was growing way too anxious and the area began to grow dark. She said, "It's time for me to show you that I'm not kidding around with you, and what kind of shinobi I really am."

Though Yuki had a nagging doubt in her mind, she replied confidently. "That was then, this is now; and you won't kill me." She answered. The three teardrop-shaped weights at the end of her chain clacked together every now and again as the spun faster and faster. She and watched Rin carefully, seeing her colour change her attitude darken. With it, the surrounding area began to dull.

"I'm sorry, but vision in impaired conditions is not a problem for me." Yuki took her hand off of the chain for a moment, forming a single hand seal and closing her eyes. With the seal completed she touched her eyelids and broke the seal, whipping one hand to the side to catch the end of the chain as her Kusari-gama almost escaped her grasp. Getting the weapon up to speed again took mere seconds, and she was soon twirling it expertly around her figure. It was then that she opened her eyes, revealing a bright, lighter coloured iris in each eye.

With her eyes open and the darkness no longer a real issue, she took two well-placed steps toward Rin, flinging the kusari-gama at the Jounin and preparing to reel it back whether the three teardrop-shaped weights hit their target or not. She knew her movements and how precise they had to be. She also knew that her last two had been spot-on - whatever happened now, her weight was balanced evenly and her posture was correct. She would be able to defend or attack again with barely a movement.

Rin smiled a madman's smile and laughed. "You think that yu will be able to get free of this by simply modifing your site?" she asked as she quit laughing. "The only thing you're doing, is setting me up perfectly...I'm a porfessional murder, and I happen to have more than one way to fight," Rin's darkness was starting to wrap itself around Yuki and Rin began to vanish, the darkness swallowing her up. Though Rin was close to Yuki, the darkness made it appear that Rin was in one spot while she was really in another. Yuki's attack was only inches from Rin's true self and surpprised Rin but did not bother her, only annoyed her. A few inches closer and Rin would have been hit in the face by the weights. Once the darkness reached its final point, the entire feild was nothing but darkness, and the gravity was nearly unbearable. Rin was nowhere in sight and couldn't be heard.

Description: This jutsu is a very unusual jutsu due to the fact that it does not target the victum's mind as does most genjutsu, but instead, it targets the victum's body. It allows for only a few inches of visability, and does not allow for much movement. The amount of gravity in this jutsu is bone crunching to the average, human shinobi, if they were to move too much, the force of the gravity would crush them entirely.

The darkness encroaching on Yuki brought a new sensation, a new danger with it. The force pushing her body to the ground was powerful, almost unbearable. Unable to resist, the Genin was forced to her knees, her hands pressed against the ground in an attempt to hold herself up. Rin, on the other hand, had shown no signs of being affected by the darkness and was now hidden inside it. Genjutsu. It must be. The young kunoichi thought to herself. Though that hardly helps me, it's too powerful to use pain to dispel it. Not knowing how to use Genjutsu release techniques, Yuki was in danger. She fell flat on her front, her arms lain out before her. The kusari-gama was a lonely and immobile item on the floor by her side. With all the effort she could muster, she formed a couple of hand seals with her outstretched hands. "Souseki no Jutsu." She muttered, feeling the warm, empowering effect flood her body. It wasn't much, but the thin green aura surrounding her body gave her the strength to bring herself to a crouch.

The her eyes gave her a couple of feet of vision in the darkness, but there was little use for such a now ineffective ability. Still, it cost no chakra to keep it active, so Yuki left her eyes as they were. Instead, from her hunched position, she formed another few seals. Taijutsu was impossible under such strain, her increased strength was only enough to allow her to crouch and no more. As it was, her body felt nearly torn apart by the gravitational force, and if not for the Souseki, Yuki thought it probably would have been. She had finished the seals and now, slowly and with much effort, brought her hand to her mouth and inhaled. A mere second later she blew an enormous gust of wind from her mouth. It ripped its way across the ground before her, and all Yuki could do in the dire circumstances was hope it caught Rin. It was indeed useless to fight under such conditions, and they weren't going to go away any time soon. Rin had beaten Yuki before the fight had really started, but the Genin's fighting spirit and pride would not let her just give up. She waited to see the reaction of her Fuuton, fighting against the pain and the pressure. "Just what exactly is this meant to be teaching me?!" The younger kunoichi yelled out angrily, the pain evident in her voice.

Rin's dark voice came from out of the darkness, echoing throuout the area, "This, my dear, is teaching you to never judge your opponett by how they appear. This also teaches you to never trust anyone but yourself." Rin's deep blue eyes began to appear, glowing in the darkness. "I was just like you as a child, strong willed, trusting, loving, and even happy...until I was old enough to walk and talk. Once a reach that age, my father threw me in a small, dark cage, locking me away from the world," she began.

"When I reached the age of 4, my father took me to see the outside world for the first time, only to see the huge 1,000 year old demon that would be sealed inside of me....a week later, I lost control of the power that I was never taught to control, and destroyed the clan that my father had worked so hard to protect, I killed my family, and half of another clan next to ours that night," Rin finished, the darkness fading away.

The black and orange wolf walked closer to Yuki, crimson colored blood dripping from her body. Yuki had managed to hit Rin right when she was moving out of the darkness to attack the young kunoichi. Rin sniffed the air and smiled, a growl ecaping her throat. "It smells so good...it's horrible to be so attracted to this scent," Rin said, lowering her gaze to the ground that was stained with drops of her blood.

She shifted back to her human form, watching the cuts heal. Rin licked what blood she could away before the wounds healed. Closing her eyes, Rin savored the taste of blood...the very thing that she had seen when she was a child. No matter how much blood she saw, Rin was still attracted to it. "This, Yuki...is what I'm trying to teach you," she said and vanished, reappearing behind Yuki. Rin held her claws to the girl's throat and spoke into her ear. "Remember that I'm predator, and you're prey...that's what makes me the monster, and you the human." She moved her claws away from the young girl's neck and jumped up onto the balcony of the training area.
